The National Nutritional Council Davao Region (NNC-11) awarded the provincial government of Davao del Norte on Friday for successfully executing nutrition initiatives.
Davao del Norte was presented with the "Pag-asa Award at Provincial Level" for 2022 during a ceremony held here. NNC-11 bestowed this honor in honor of the provincial government's exceptional planning, management, and execution of regional nutrition programs.
According to the results of Operation Timbang Plus (OTP) in 2022, the province had the lowest prevalence of stunting, wasting, underweight, overweight, and obesity in the area.
He claimed that the honor proved the commitment of his administration to combating malnutrition and fostering children's well-being and vitality.
He also expressed his gratitude to the academic institutions, local governments, and the provincial health office for their efforts to address issues of malnutrition and other nutrition-related problems in their respective localities.
In addition, the NNC-11 recognized Dr. Alfred Lacerona, director of the provincial health office in Davao del Norte, and May Flor Espiritu, respectively, as outstanding regional provincial nutrition action officers and outstanding regional district nutrition program coordinators.
