

Nine areas in the country will be experiencing a scorching, “danger level” heat index today, April 8, according to the state weather bureau’s daily forecast.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast in its April 7 5 PM bulletin that Virac, Catanduanes, will endure temperatures as high as 44℃ and Sangley Point in Cavite City may be subject to a stifling 43℃.
The following areas will experience a simmering heat index of 42℃:
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- Cubi Point, Subic Bay in Olongapo City
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Cuyo, Palawan
- Roxas City, Capiz
- Iloilo City
- Dumangas, Iloilo
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) area in Pasay City will feel a 41℃ heat index, and the Science Garden in Quezon City, a 38℃ heat index.
On Monday, 12 areas faced danger level heat indices, with the hottest at 46℃ in Virac, Catanduanes, followed by 43℃ in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and Sangley Point, Cavite.
According to a report on Magandang Umaga Pilipinas, areas affected by a 42℃ heat index include:
- Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur
- Maasin, Southern Leyte
- Panglao International Airport in Bohol
- Dumangas, Iloilo
- Roxas City, Capiz
- Masbate City
- Cuyo, Palawan
- Subic, Olongapo City

It features high-resolution, gridded heat index information, color-coded alerts, and a user-friendly interface best used on a desktop. The platform updates hourly.
