

Daluyong, a short film about a passionate young fisherman who aspired to be a well-known rapper, bagged the Grand Prix Award in the MBC Short Film Festival 2022.
On Saturday night, the MSFF announced the winner of its second edition through the "Big Night" event that aired on its official Facebook page, DZRH News Television, and other affiliated digital platforms of MBC.
Directed by Ervie Jay Torzar, "Daluyong" was also named the Best Short Feature in the competition.
The Grand Prix winner will take home a total of PHP 220,000 – PHP 20,000 for qualifying in the final screening, PHP 100,000 for winning in the category/genre, and another PHP 100,000 for winning among category winners.
Gio Gonzalves' Kambalingan — a short visual documentary of reminiscence of Marawi's beauty before its destruction during the Marawi Siege, told by Maranao refugees — took home the Best Documentary award.
Meanwhile, the Best Animation winner is the short film "Proud" by Are Jay Madrigal Peralta.
Proud tells the story of pair of shoes that personified pride and arrogance until misfortunes and experiences from its new owners taught them the value of kindness and humility.
All the category winners will take home PHP 100,000.
This year's Viewers' Choice awardee is the short film "The Transfiguration of Marya" directed by Jericho Rimando.
This story about a young devotee of Mother Mary named Marya garnered the most number of votes during the voting period last July 15 - July 29. They will take home PHP 25,000.
The selection committee for the Grand Prix winner was composed of some veterans in the film and TV industry.
Among those are GMA Network's Creative Consultant Agnes Caballa; Actor, TV Host, and Director Jeffrey "Epy" Quizon; and Disney Animation's Head of Story Josie Trinidad.
