Rice farmers in Zamboanga Peninsula will receive fertilizer assistance provided by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office 9.
Under Memorandum Order No. 35 signed by Regional Executive Director Dennis Arpia and issued on Friday, the DA program shall cover “fertilizer assistance under the Production Support Services beginning in the rainy season of 2023 and the dry season of 2023–2024 in rice-producing cities and municipalities in the Zamboanga Peninsula.”
“Only farmers that are registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and encoded in the Farmer and Fisherfolk Registry System (FFRS) shall be eligible to receive the support,” the order reads.
To claim the fertilizers aid, DA said farmers must present their valid government as proof of identification.
Those who could not not personally appear should present an authorized letter designating the authorized representative along with an ID and a certified true copy of the farmer-beneficiary’s ID.
Last Thursday, May 18, the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office IX has already distributed 550 bags of fertilizer assistance in Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay with COA Auditor Russell Tan present.
Zamboanga Sibugay Province received a total of 4,980 bags of fertilizer.

- Alicia - 550 Bags
- Buug - 1100 Bags
- Diplahan - 1100 Bags
- Mabuhay - 380 Bags
- Malangas - 550 Bags
- Payao - 880 Bags
- Olutanga - 200 Bags
- Talusan - 220 Bags
