A cyclist was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a jeepney along Sumulong Highway in Mambugan, Antipolo City, on Wednesday, February 28.
According to RH Val Gonzales' live report during Damdaming Bayan, the driver of the jeepney was taking a pee when the incident happened.
Traffic Enforcer William Jualo of the Antipolo City Public Safety Office said the passenger jeep did not have its hand brake on, so it rolled down from the high part of the road.
The jeepney hit one of the six consecutive bicycle riders who sustained serious injuries.
Allan Chongco, one of the fellow riders of the victim, said they were surprised when they encountered the jeep, adding that they didn't notice it because they were following a smoky truck.
The Antipolo City traffic sector is now holding the yet-to-be-named driver of the jeep, who is facing a charge of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries and damage to property.
