Customs inspect Discaya's compound, flags luxury cars without proper documents
by Alyssandra A. Pandez02 September 2025

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Tuesday, September 2, inspected the compound of contractor Sara Discaya in Pasig City as part of its probe into the family’s ownership of multiple luxury vehicles.

BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno told reporters that while the Discayas previously admitted to owning around 40 cars, only 12 were fully identified in the search warrant.

“Sa ulat kasi sa social media, ang inaamin din nila parang 40. Kaya lang sa search warrant kasi kailangan fully identified with the details. So 12 din yung identify natin,” Nepomuceno said before entering the premises.

Discaya: No show

No member of the Discaya family was present during the inspection. Nepomuceno urged them to present all vehicles they admitted to owning, along with complete importation documents, to prove good faith.

“Kaya kung ako sa pamilya ng Discaya, bilang advice, para maipakita nila yung good faith, dalhin nila rito hanggang bukas siguro, ipakita nila sa atin ang mga papel upang magkaroon sila ng pagkakataon na mabayaran ng tama, kung talaga naman binili nila ito ng tama,” he said.

The BOC gave the Discayas until Wednesday, September 3, to submit the documents for validation. Failure to comply may result in the issuance of a Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD).

The agency said its investigation will continue to determine whether the vehicles were properly imported and taxed.
