As reported by Boy Gonzales, the crane's cable tripped, destroying a car, two motorcycles, a bicycle, a part of another building, and a cantine beside the area.
"Nung pagbagsak po ng mga bakal parang may sumabog po talaga na sounds, e.g., malakas po at nabalot po kami ng alikabok dito hanggang Recto po," said Barangay Chairman Winsen Yu in an interview.
According to Yu, approximately 4.2 tons of metal fell from the 64-story building.
Yu, however, said that no one was hurt by the incident.
Yu noted that the operator, T1 Construction Company, will cater to all the damages it caused.
"Nagpatawag ng meeting sa safety officer, nagset po siya ng schedule para sagutin lahat ng damages at kung sino po talaga ang dapat managot," said the barangay chairman.
The operation of T1 Construction Company was temporarily suspended while the affected properties were still being addressed.
