

The Department of Health (DOH) released its report on Monday, revealing that the country recorded a total of 6,630 new COVID-19 cases during the week spanning June 5 to 11.
This figure indicates a significant decline of 27% compared to the previous week.
According to the DOH, the daily average number of fresh infections amounted to 947 cases, including 112 individuals in severe and critical condition.
Currently, there are 527 patients classified as severe and critical, accounting for 11.3% of the total COVID-19 admissions across the nation.
The DOH also confirmed an additional five deaths attributed to the country's deathtoll for COVID-19.
Since the onset of the pandemic, the country has accumulated a total of 4.15 million confirmed cases. Out of these cases, over 4.07 million individuals have successfully recovered, while the death toll has reached at least 66,400. Presently, there are 10,761 active cases.
In terms of vaccination progress, the DOH reported that more than 78 million individuals, which constitutes the entire target population, have received their COVID-19 vaccine.
Among them, 23 million people have already received booster shots. Furthermore, 7.1 million senior citizens, equivalent to 82.16% of the target A2 population, have received their primary vaccine doses.
These figures provide some optimism as the country continues its battle against the ongoing pandemic, showcasing positive signs of progress in terms of declining cases and expanding vaccination coverage.
