The positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) jumped to 17.2 percent over the past weeks, the latest data from the OCTA Research has shown.
In a Twitter post on Monday, OCTA Research Group fellow Guido David said the positivity rate rose from 10.2 percent on April 22 to 17.2 percent on April 28.

He also reported that there has been an increase in the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 in several provinces.
Based on OCTA's data, high weekly positivity rates were recorded in Camarines Sur at 39.7 percent, Rizal at 28.5 percent, Cavite at 28.1 percent, and Laguna at percent.

Meanwhile, data from the Department of Health (DOH) as of April 30 showed that active COVID-19 infections rose to 5,875, which brings the overall number of COVID-19 cases nationwide to 4,093,421.
The death toll stood at 66,444 with 4,021,102 individuals recovered.
Earlier, the OCTA Research group forecasted that NCR's positivity rate could potentially reach 20 percent in the upcoming weeks due to the lower COVID-19 testing compared to previous years.
