A Muntinlupa Court has issued a warrant of arrest against former Bureau of Correction (BuCor) Director General Gerald Bantag and former BuCor deputy security officer Ricardo Zulueta, in connection to the murder of alleged middleman Jun Villamor in the Percy Lapid slay case.
The arrest warrant, dated April 12 and penned by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 206 Presiding Judge Gener Gito, was released to the media on Thursday.
Based on the one-page issued warrant, the murder cases are not bailable.
It said that the two former BuCor officials have the right to use at least one body-worn camera and one or two alternative recording devices "to capture and record the relevant incidents in the execution of this warrant."
Last March 15, the Department of Justice (DOJ) panel of prosecutors found probable cause to indict Bantag and Zulueta over the deaths of radio broadcaster Lapid and alleged middleman Villamor.
