House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez vowed on Sunday that 11 more bills would be passed quickly, increasing the total number of priority administration measures to 42.

The bills, according to Romualdez, are as follows: Amending the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) Fixed Term Bill, which has already been transmitted to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.; Ease of Paying Taxes; Maharlika Investment Fund; Local Government Unit Income Classification; Amendment to the Universal Health Care Act, which has already been sent to the Senate; Bureau of Immigration Modernization; Infrastructure Development Plan/Build Build Build Program, which is now for committee report preparation

In his statement, he said that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had already approved 11 bills designed to address key issues on public health, job creation, and further stimulating economic growth as part of his administration's priority legislation.

He added that the measures will be the highlight of the legislative efforts when Congress resumes its session today, Monday.

Romualdez joined Marcos on his five-day official visit to the United States as well as to the crowning of King Charles III and Queen Camilla in the United Kingdom on Saturday.

He stated that the leadership hopes to pass the remaining eight Legislative-Executive Development Council (LEDAC) priority items from the initial 31 bills before the sine dies adjournment of Congress on June 3.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, on the other hand, stated that measures on the projected PHP 150 daily wage increase, the Virology Institute, E-Commerce, Salt Industry Development and Revitalization, the Maharlika Fund, and the Medical Reserve Corps are among their priorities.

Zubiri said in a radio interview on Sunday that he intends to complete all deliberations and ratification by the end of the session.

He stated that the majority of senators supported the pay increase bill.

Meanwhile, Zubiri claims that top corporations can afford the raise, but micro, small, and medium-sized businesses may apply it gradually.

He stated that the Maharlika Fund would be passed by the first week of June and promised adjustments to protect the investments.
