Cavite 4th District Representative Elpidio 'Pidi' Barzaga announced on Monday, October 30 that he will be taking a medical leave to undergo open-heart surgery in the United States.

"Today, October 30, 2023, I am leaving for the United States of America to undergo an open-heart surgery. I am asking for your support through prayers for a successful operation and speedy recovery," his statement shared on his Facebook page read.

"Once I have recovered and regained my strength and vigor, I will carry on with my mission in life - which is to be of service to my fellow Dasmarineños. For the past 25 years, I and Mayor Jenny have been working for an altruistic purpose - to uplift the quality of lives of our constituents," he added.

Barzaga also asked for prayers for the success of his operation.
