A commotion in a private business establishment in San Juan City, erupted early Thursday after a group ransacked the building.
RH 52 Edniel Parrosa reported that tensions at the establishment in San Juan City arose after a group ransacked the place at around 3:30 AM Thursday. San Juan City Police Chief PCol. Deodennies Marmol said a security detail of the property attempted to take over the establishment.
Authorities suspect this was caused by an “intra-corporate dispute,” which generally involves the rights and obligations of the stockholders or members of the corporation. According to Marmol, the dispute between the two parties had been going on for a while. He added that this particular incident involved arguments on management and ownership of the company.
“Nag-nenegotiate kami sa both parties po na i-settle nila yung differences nila peacefully. Sinasabihan po din namin sila na kapay may krimen po kami na nakita na ginagawa nila in our presence, ay maaari po namin sila arestuhin anytime,” Marmol said.
Moreover, the CCTV footage showed that the group entered the premises armed with weapons. The building’s head security Mark Salvado said one suspect used his gun to beat one of the in-house security in the head.
“Pati yung security dito, hindi kinaya. Eh ilan lang ‘yan, anim lang ‘yan na nakaduty,” Salvado said.
The security guard on duty was later rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, an operative said the security agency had arrived with a demolition team at the building. The group did not just ransack the place but also stole items from the establishment. They also used teargas and other weapons.
Employees working at the establishment also retaliated, as negotiations between the owners were ongoing.
According to Atty. Tina Parras, some personnel were rushed to the emergency room after teargas were thrown at them. She believes this was also caused by an intra-corporate dispute.
It was past 11:00 AM when the situation inside the establishment was under control. However, the report mentioned that some of the suspects had escaped.
Some people who were arrested by authorities said they were ordered to go to the establishment for housekeeping.
The San Juan City Police is continuing its investigation into the incident and assured the public that they will be patrolling near the premises as this was the second time that tensions arose between the two parties.
