The Commission on Election (Comelec) confirmed on Wednesday, Nov. 1, the 100 percent completion of voting and canvassing of votes in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls.
In a brief statement, Comelec stated there was no failure of election in the 42,001 barangays nationwide.
“100% complete voting and canvassing nationwide. No failure of election,” it said.
According to the poll body, all winning candidates throughout the country have been proclaimed, except candidates with unsolved cases and those with close votes.
“The only remaining unproclaimed candidates were the ones ordered suspended and those with tie votes,” Comelec said.
Comelec chairman George Garcia earlier told DZRH that proclamation were halted in the barangays in Bangsamoro and in Samar as the election was disrupted due to reported incidents.
