The Commission on Elections (Comelec) confirmed to conduct a pilot testing of automated Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) polls for Oct. 30, 2023.
On Tuesday, Comelec spokesman Johnrex Laudingco named Poblacion in Makati City, Paliparan 3 in Dasmari&ntilde;as, Cavite, and Pasong Tamo in Quezon City as the three areas for the pilot testing.
"[These automated BSKE] coincide with the electoral reform of the suffrage election on Oct. 30, 2023. Before the manual elections, there will be mock test elections to ensure the automated election system will work properly for the three barangay I mentioned," he announced.
There will be a series of mock polls in preparation for 97 vote counting machines (VCMs) accuracy.
Mock polls will secure an estimated 92 million registered voters alongside corresponding ballots, ball pens, folders, indelible inks, and poll precincts.
