The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday released the calendar of activities for the synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) slated this October 30, 2023.
Based on Resolution No. 10899 dated February 22 and signed by Comelec chairperson Erwin George Garcia and other Comelec officials, aspiring candidates can file their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) starting July 3 until July 7.
The campaign period will begin on October 19 and ends on October 28.
The barangay and SK election day is scheduled for October 30.
The poll body reminded the public that on the eve of the election day, October 29, until the election day itself, the following acts are prohibited:
- Campaigning
- Giving, and accepting free transportation, food, drinks, and things of value
- Selling, furnishing, offering, buying, serving or taking intoxicating liquor
- Using another voter's affidavit for the purpose of voting, whether or not the voter actually succeeds in voting
- Voting more than once or in substitution for another individual
- Destroying, substituting, or taking away from the possession of those having legal custody, any election form or ballot box
Also prohibited are soliciting votes or undertaking any propaganda for any candidate, as well as selling, furnishing, offering, buying, or serving intoxicating liquor.
Last February 22, Comelec confirmed that 74% were complete with printing ballots for the October 2023 BSKE.
