The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has declared February 12 as National Voters Day or Pambansang Araw ng mga Botanteng Pilipino, which also marks as start of registration for the 2025 Midterm Elections.

In a press statement issued on February 1, Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said various activities would commence at all Comelec offices nationwide.

Laudiangco said this endeavor would "entertain the registrants, pique the interest of their constituents to encourage them to register, and spread awareness about voter registration."

In line with National Voter's Day, the Comelec spokesperson said that voter certification would be free of charge starting February 12.

"To further emphasize the importance of National Voters Day, the Comelec will set up a Special Register Anywhere Program in Plaza Roma, Intramuros, Manila, and Baclaran Church in Parañaque City on February 12, 2024, to be held simultaneously with the conduct of voter registration in other locations nationwide," he said.

Meanwhile, Lauiangco reminded all 18 years old and above residents to register for the 2025 Midterm Elections until Sept. 30, 2024.

He said the poll body would carry out the registration in the form of offsite/satellite registration, mall registration, register anywhere program, and special registration anywhere program.
