The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has issued a withdrawal form that allows voters to void their signatures for the People's Initiative campaign to push Charter change.
In a notice posted on its official Facebook page on February 15, Comelec said the form can be accomplished and submitted to the Offices of the Election Officers nationwide.
"COMELEC's acceptance of withdrawal forms is for recording purposes only and shall not be construed as formal action by the Commission on the signature sheets/petition for People's Initiative," it said.
The poll body maintains that "any and all proceedings" regarding the People's Initiative remain suspended until Comelec Resolution No. 10650 has been reviewed and amended.
Comelec issued the withdrawal form after Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa conveyed that "there are individuals who have manifested their intention to withdraw signatures in the signature sheets/petition for People's Initiative."
