The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has issued a memorandum approving the recommended administrative transfer of 10 Embo barangays in Makati City to Taguig City for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) this October 30.
In the 10-page memorandum order dated August 19 but released on August 21, Comelec said it approved the law department's recommendation to transfer the barangays situated in Parcel 3 and 4 in Makati in accordance with the Supreme Court (SC) ruling.

The poll body also approved the recommended actions that several offices shall undertake for the administrative transfer of the 10 barangays.
Out of the offices, the printing committee has been tasked to print the ballots of 10 Embo barangays and transfer these to Taguig City.
The Election Records and Statistics Department (ERSD) was directed to provide an updated coding system of the barangays in Makati 2nd District and Taguig City to the Information Technology Department (ITD) and re-allocate BSKE forms and supplies.
The memorandum was signed by Comelec Director IV Consuelo Diola.
This order was released a few weeks after the local government unit (LGU) of Taguig started taking over the management of some public schools in Embo barangays.
However, SC administrator Raul Villanueva said Taguig LGU still need to secure a writ of execution before it takes over the 10 barangays from Makati City.
