Starting Thursday, applications for those who want reactivation on their voter status will be accepted, as announced by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
According to Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco, deactivated voter records that failed to cast votes in the last two elections will be accepted for activation in all 'Register Anywhere Project' sites.
The poll body also expanded RAP coverage by allowing applications for the transfer of overseas voters back to the Philippines Post to Local; residents of the city/district where RAP site is located; and senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs), new registrants or those who will update their records.
Previously, the project was only open for applications for new registration, as well as transfer of registration records.
RAP sites will resume their operations this coming weekend (January 14 to 15) and on January 21 to 22, starting 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in selected malls located in Metro Manila, Bicol, and Tacloban City.
The following malls are:
- SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City
- SM City Sucat in Parañaque City
- SM City Fairview in Quezon City
- Robinsons Place Manila in Ermita
- Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, Quezon City
- SM City Legazpi in Legazpi City
- Robinsons Place Naga in Naga City
- Robinsons Place Tacloban in Tacloban City.
Moreover, the Comelec partnered with other government agencies as RAP sites, starting January 10 to 13 and 16 to 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, Filipino residents who are qualified applicants may register at the booths provided for RAP by submitting their application form, documentary requirements, and biometrics taken on-site.
Documents and captured data will be endorsed and transmitted by the recipient RAP teams to the Office of the Election officer of the district/city/municipality having jurisdiction over the residence of the applicant.
