Former Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio “Babes” Singson has confirmed that he has been receiving informal offers from Malacañang to return as head of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The development comes as the agency faces controversies over alleged “ghost” flood control projects.

Singson, however, said he has not agreed to the offer, citing health, family, and safety concerns.

Singson previously served as DPWH Secretary under the Aquino administration from 2010 to 2016. He noted that a comprehensive flood control master plan was completed and left behind during that period but claimed it was never adopted by succeeding administrations to address the country’s flooding problems.
