Colegio de San Lorenzo in QC to close down due to financial instability
by Christhel Cuazon16 August 2022

The Colegio de San Lorenzo in Quezon City has announced that it will permanently cease operations after more than 30 years due to financial issues.

"With a very heavy heart, we would like to inform you that due to the financial instability and lack of financial viability brought about by the ongoing pandemic and exacerbated by consistent low enrollment turnout over the past years, the Board of Trustees has come to the painful and difficult decision to permanently close our institution, Colegio De San Lorenzo," the school management said in a letter.

The management noted that the low enrollee turnout for the school year 2022-2023 would make it difficult to continue operating.

The school management assured them that they would be refunded in full. It also promised students that it would help them transfer to other schools “by timely releasing their records and credentials for such purpose.”

The management said it would coordinate with institutions “of the same caliber” where college students could transfer.

For those in the college department, the officials said they are coordinating with a university to possibly transfer affected students.

These students are advised to reach out to the school's registrar's office for further details and assistance.

The management said processing and claiming of enrollment fees refund, and release of transfer credentials will be accommodated from August 16 to September 19.
