Kapamilya stars Lovi Poe and Coco Martin will be the lead in ABS-CBN’s upcoming television adaptation of Fernando Poe Jr.’s (FPJ) classic movie "Batang Quiapo."
On Monday, ABS-CBN Entertainment and Dreamscape Entertainment unveiled the stars of their another FPJ series adaptation following the success of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” which ran for over seven years.
Coco Martin who starred in "Ang Probinsyano" will also be the co-director and co-producer in "Batang Quiapo."
Veteran actors who will join Lovi Poe and Coco Martin in "Batang Quiapo" are Charo Santos, Christopher de Leon, Senators Lito, and Mark Lapid, John Estrada, Cherry Pie Picache, Susan Africa, Allan Paule, Benzon Dalina, Ping Medina, Pen Medina, Ronwaldo Martin, and Mercedes Cabral.
Meanwhile, Lovi Poe who is the daughter of FPJ and Rowena Moran expressed joy and excitement for the project.
“So this happened…♥️ Couldn’t think of a better team to work with on my first FPJ project. We’re very excited to do this adaptation of Batang Quiapo,” Lovi Poe captioned in an Instagram post as she shared photos with the cast.

Lovi Poe dedicated the series to her Father.
“Ibibigay namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya para sa lahat ng patuloy na tumatangkilik sa nagiisang Da King. 🙏🏼 This one’s for you, Papa ♥, ” she said.
The series is slated to premiere in 2023.
This will be in line with the commemoration of FPJ’s 18th death anniversary.
The original “Batang Quiapo” was released in 1986. It is an action-comedy film starring FPJ and his leading lady Maricel Soriano.
