North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) implemented a temporary closure of the SCTEX Pasig Potrero Bridge on Sunday afternoon due to relentless heavy rains.
In a public advisory, NLEX and SCTEX announced that the temporary closure was enforced at around 3:30 PM for the safety of motorists and as a precautionary measure, encompassing all types of vehicles.
"The SCTEX Pasig Potrero Bridge is still temporarily closed as a precautionary safety measure due to expected heavy rains in the area. Safety inspections are ongoing and the situation is being closely monitored," the advisory reads.
Meanwhile, NLEX and SCTEX assured that they will promptly issue an announcement once the bridge is reopened for motorists, ensuring their safety.
Affected routes will be Northbound and Southbound between Clark and Subic.
Motorists were advised to take the following alternative routes:
- From Manila to Subic:
NLEX San Fernando Exit - Jose Abad Santos Avenue - Subic
- From Tarlac to Subic:
SCTEX - NLEX San Fernando Exit - Jose Abad Santos Avenue - Subic
Class 1 vehicles can also take the route via SCTEX Clark South Exit - Friendship Highway - Angeles Porac Junction - SCTEX Porac Entry
- From Subic to Manila/Tarlac:
Jose Abad Santos Avenue - NLEX San Fernando Entry - Manila/Tarlac
