Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of an eating disorder.

Actress Claudine Barretto admitted to battling with anorexia in a letter shared on her social media page.

In a post addressed to her “tatay” Dolphy, who played her onscreen father for over a decade in the 90’s sitcom Home Along Da Riles, Claudine shared that she was struggling with an eating disorder but that she was getting help for it.

“May anorexia po ako & im getting help naman Tay,” she said on Instagram.

Last month, she said in an interview that she once again experienced significant weight loss—her weight reduced to 82 lbs—after a period of recovery from anorexia nervosa. She revealed that it began after losing her older brother Mito Barretto in September last year.

The star also spoke of her parents, Director Wenn Deramas, her former love team partner Rico Yan, and others who have already passed on in the sentimental post.

She also shared how proud she was of Dolphy’s grandson, Boy2 Quizon.

Claudine’s post supports the Home Along Da Riles reunion film, which Boy2 Quizon is said to be the director of. In the original sitcom, she starred as Bing Kosme, the eldest daughter of Kevin Kosme, played by the late Philippine Comedy King Dolphy.
