Several municipalities and barangays in Batangas province suspended classes on Thursday, June 8 due to the continuous thick volcanic smog coming from the Taal volcano.

In an advisory, the Municipality of Laurel announced that classes at all levels in both private and public schools are still suspended in order to protect the health and well-being of students and teachers.

It reminded residents to be cautious and apply health preventive measures such as wearing of facemask and drink water to stay hydrated.
