Senators JV Ejercito and Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa believe that the recent clash between their colleagues Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano and Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri is evidence of their serious commitment to their work in the Senate.

According to Ejercito, he felt the intensity of the shouting between the two as he was serving as the majority leader. He further stated that this is proof that the senators are not "rubber stamps" and that they are passionate about their causes.

He added that it’s a good thing the disagreement was limited to shouting and did not escalate to physical confrontations like those seen among some parliament members in other countries.

Meanwhile, Dela Rosa stated that Cayetano and Zubiri only demonstrated their seriousness about their work, which is why their emotions ran high.

“Dyan nagpapakita na talagang seryoso yung dalawa sa kanilang trabahong ginagampanan,” Dela Rosa said during a press briefing.

"Talagang intense ‘yung kanilang desire na magampanan ‘yung trabaho nila bilang senador. Kaya umabot sa punto na talagang nagsisigawan,” he added.

Cayetano and Zubiri were able to talk and resolve their misunderstanding after their heightened emotions subsided.
