The Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has launched a 24/7 nationwide hotline to hasten the capture of gaming tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang, who is wanted for kidnapping and homicide in connection with the missing “sabungeros” or cockfight enthusiasts case.
The PNP-CIDG provided the following hotlines:
-
Smart: 0960-6923025
-
Globe: 0945-6115926
Ang, named the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) most wanted person, is believed to be in either Pasig, Mandaluyong, Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, or Zambales.
Earlier, the DILG issued a reward of ₱10 million to whoever gives authorities information leading to Ang’s arrest.
On Friday, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said it now has “reliable leads” as to Ang’s whereabouts, although it declined to disclose further details.
On Thursday, the agency said Ang has no intention of surrendering to authorities and has gone into hiding. NBI Assistant Director for the Investigation Service Rommel Vallejo said in a press conference that it would be in the businessman’s best interest to surrender, to prove his innocence, and hasten the resolution of his case.
