The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy on Wednesday following his videos harassing Filipinos in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
According to a report by Edniel Parrosa, CIDG apprehended Vitaly at a hotel in Pasay City through a mission order for undesirability, citing a violation of Bureau of Immigration (BI) Operations Order No. SBM-2014-048.
The 33-year-old vlogger faced backlash on social media after his videos showed him disrespecting Filipinos, including security guards, traffic personnel, and ordinary citizens.
Among the clips, one showed Vitaly suddenly grabbing a security guard’s hat, causing a disturbance in the establishment. In another instance, he persistently pestered a security guard and attempted to snatch his firearm. Vitaly was also seen approaching a woman, jokingly threatening a robbery, and insulting her.
A security guard stationed in BGC reportedly filed a police blotter with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Southern Police District, citing harassment. The CIDG immediately coordinated with BI intelligence operatives, leading to his arrest.
Vitaly is currently under the custody of the BI in Intramuros for documentation and proper disposition.
According to the BI, his arrest is part of the government's continued efforts to ensure public safety and maintain order.
"Our laws exist to protect the welfare of Filipinos," said Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.
"Let this serve as a reminder that while we welcome visitors, those who fail to respect our people and our laws will face the consequences," he added.
