Before sports newscaster Chino Trinidad passed away last Saturday, July 13, at the age of 56 years-old due to a heart attack, he reached out to Dr. Tony Leachon, a public health expert.

Leachon shared on Tuesday, July 16, that Trinidad sought an executive check-up after experiencing chest pains.

Kapag siya ay tumitigil, nawawala," Leachon said during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.

The public health expert said that Trinidad also admitted that he has diabetes, and hypertension even though he does not drink alcohol or smoke.

Leachon also noticed that Trinidad has gout, which has been associated with cardiovascular diseases, that the newscaster said that he inheritted from his parents.

Meanwhile, Leachon advised people with ages 50-years old and above to undergo regular laboratory check-ups if they have a family history of diabetes or hypertension, and under a lot of stress.
