United Front Works of China tries to influence sectors to disturb and disorganize the country without the need to enter war, the AFP Chief General Romeo Brawner claims in a press briefing, July 4.
According to the AFP chief, China is attempting to penetrate the education, business, media, and other local sectors in the Philippines.
“Pumapasok sa ating bansa and trying to influence various sectors of our society. Kasama rito ang education sector, business, even the media, local government units, and so forth," Gen. Brawner said.
The AFP aims to gather more information about the said attempt and meet with the proper agency to address the matter.
The AFP also looks into the use of scam hubs or illegal and unlicensed Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) as a way to execute this move from China.
As a measure, the AFP recommended a new territorial defense strategy to the president called 'Bantay Kalayaan.' This will not only cover the issue regarding the West Philippine Sea dispute but also recommend steps concerning security for different agencies in the government.
