Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo will be administering the oath of President-elect Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. as a way to "abide by tradition," his spokesman Vic Rodriguez said Friday.
However, Gesmundo said he has yet to receive an invitation.
"Haven’t received any communications yet. Perhaps on the way," he said.
Marcos is set to hold his inauguration as the 17th President of the Philippines at the National Museum on June 30, 2022.
Incoming Presidential Management Staff Secretary Zenaida "Naida" Angping said that the inaugural committee members had recently conducted an ocular inspection of the area and found it to be a suitable venue.
Aside from Marcos, other Philippine Presidents who took their oath at the National Museum include Manuel L. Quezon in 1935, Jose P. Laurel in 1943, and Manuel Roxas in 1946.
Meanwhile, Vice President-elect Sara Duterte is set to hold her inauguration in her hometown Davao City on June 19.
