Chelsea Manalo not only earned the title of Miss Universe Asia but also claimed the National Costume Award at Miss Universe 2024. The pageant organization announced the news on Saturday.
The Filipina beauty queen was joined by Chile's Emilia Dides in second place and Vietnam's Kỳ Duyên Nguyễn in third place.
"Proudly representing their homeland! The National Costume is a way for contestants to share their country’s story, traditions, and values with the world," Miss Universe said in their announcement video.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines extended their congratulations to the artists and artisans behind the "jaw-dropping" masterpiece titled "Hiraya."

"Hiraya", a creation by Manny Halasan, paid tribute to the country's religious heritage, which Manalo wore during the preliminary round of the pageant.
The national costume symbolizes the deep historical and cultural ties between the Philippines and Mexico, highlighting their shared devotion to religion.
This marks the second consecutive year the Philippines has won the award; last year, Michelle Dee also took home the Best National Costume award.
Manalo concluded her Miss Universe 2024 journey in the Top 30 and was later crowned the first Miss Universe Asia.
