Human rights lawyer Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno on Wednesday announced that he will view for a senatorial seat in the upcoming national elections.
"Yes, tatakbo ulit ako sa Senado. Napakaraming bagay ang hindi patas dito sa atin—sa batas, sa ekonomiya, sa mga patakaran sa COVID. Gawin nating mas makatarungan ang buhay ng mga Pilipino," Diokno said in a Twitter post.

Last June, 1Sambayan named Diokno among its nominees for president and vice president, however, the lawyer declined the nomination stating how he “never aspired for president or VP.”
Diokno first joined the senatorial elections in 2019, under the opposition's senatorial slate Otso Diresto.
