The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) warned the public against fake online accounts pretending to post with regards to CHED scholarships.

In a Facebook post, CHED mentioned that unofficial accounts are increasing and allegedly asking for personal information from the applicants.

Meanwhile, unofficial CHED pages are both circulating on Facebook and on websites with links and supposed requirements for scholarships.

However, the CHED confirmed that it only has three official social media accounts which are PhCHED.gov for Facebook, @PhCHED for Twitter, and ched.gov.ph for the website.

It stressed that the department does not accommodate a virtual application process, telling scholarship applicants to coordinate with the CHED office directly.

As of now, the CHED's official Facebook page reached 666,000 followers, and 906,000 on Twitter.
