Central Visayas to hold public hearings on minimum wage adjustment, reclassification

A series of public hearings will be held in Central Visayas from August 20 to September 4, to discuss the adjustment of the region's minimum wage rate, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) - Region VII said in a public notice on Friday.

The public hearings will be conducted in some areas in Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Bohol provinces. It was initiated to gather information and opinions of stakeholders on the said adjustment.

“The public hearings shall be conducted to ensure that all sectors and parties, who stand to be directly affected by the board’s decision, are given the widest opportunity to be heard,” the RTWPB wrote.

The Public Hearing on Minimum Wage Adjustment and Wage Reclassification will commence on August 20 in Lahug, Cebu City at the DepEd Ecotech Center.

Parties may submit position papers at the RTWPB VII Cebu office or may email them at [email protected] from August 2, 2024 to September 6, 2024.

The last wage order by the RTWPB VII took effect last October 1, 2023.
