Filipino weightlifter John Ceniza dropped out early in his event in the 2024 Olympics on Wednesday, August 7, in Paris, France.
The 26-year old OIympian crashed out of medal contention in the men's weightlifting 61 kilograms division after three failed attempts to lift 125 kilograms in the snatch portion.
The weighlifter no longer participated in the clean and jerk after being marked as 'did not finish'.
Fabin Li topped the event with a total lift of 310 kilograms: 143 kilograms in the snatch portion, and 172 kilograms in the clean and jerk category.
Thai weightlifter Theerapong Silachai bagged the silver after registering a total lift of 303 kilograms, while Hampton Morris of the United States finished with a total lift of 298 kilograms to earn the final spot in the podium.
