Netizens and several celebrities took to social media to air how they were heartbroken by the saddened split of Philippine television love team- turned-real-life-couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, also known as KathNiel.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Dec. 1, TV host Gretchen Fullido shared how hard it was for her to deliver the break-up news live on TV Patrol’s Star Patrol segment.
“I have to admit, in my 13 years anchoring for Star Patrol on TV Patrol, the news about their break up is one of the most difficult & emotional news items that I had to read live in the newscast. Not to mention that it was 7 pages long,” she captioned, sharing photos of her with the former couple.
Fullido said she was always delighted to interview the couple throughout the 11 years.
“Praying for healing & growth for you both @bernardokath & @supremo_dp & to all the KathNiel fans. Sending you a big tight hug Kath & DJ,” she conveyed.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, theater actor and comedian Jerald Napoles shared a video of his partner actress Kim Molina, who was crying upon learning the breakup news.
“Mood. 11.30.23 @kimsmolina,” Napoles captioned.
In the video, Molina uttered “Ang sakit!” while bursting into tears.

Chienna Filomeno, who worked with Kathryn in the film “A Very Good Girl”, also posted a brief reaction.
“ang bigat…” she wrote in an X post.
Vice Ganda, also known to many as “Meme Vice”, also sympathized with many fans and supporters.
“God bless the broken hearts. #kathniel,” he said.
Meanwhile, X user shared that KathNiel’s breakup led them to contemplate the existence of true love.
“We all agree that Kathniel was our last card when it came to believing in true love. Their breakup makes me wonder whether true love truly lasts or even exists:(((“ yourthoughts said in a post.
X user pointed out in a post that Kathryn and Daniel have affected many people since their love team was known in every Filipino household.
“Ang hirap i-process ng hiwalayan ng KathNiel. Admit it or not, fan ka man or hindi, they are household names and staple in Filipino culture. We watched them act, love, and grow together. Tayo ay naging saksi sa kanilang kwento na ngayo’y magtatapos na. My KathNiel heart,” art said.

“My 11-year-old self would not believe all of this. Mahal ko kayo, KathNiel,” another one said.
On Thursday evening, Nov. 30, both Daniel and Kathryn confirmed in separate Instagram posts that they decided to part ways as a couple.
They were together for 11 years.
Kathryn and Daniel first worked together in the youth-oriented series “Growing Up”, which aired from September 2011 to February 2012.
