The province of Cebu has lifted the mandatory swab testing and vaccination card requirements for inbound passengers.
This is stipulated in the newly-released Executive Order no. 43 dated Nov. 4 signed by Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia.
Under EO 43, fully vaccinated travelers are no longer mandated to present any form of COVID-19 tests such as RT-PCR test or Antigen test.
However, unvaccinated travelers are still highly encouraged to present the Rapid Antigen test and this must be taken 24 hours before traveling to Cebu.
Individuals who failed to take the antigen test upon arrival would be tested at Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) for free.
“In no case shall a Rapid Antigen Result be a requirement prior to boarding for travelers bound for Cebu,“ the order reads.
Likewise, vaccination cards are no longer required for vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers upon check-in. In place of this, travelers only need to present their ticket, passport, or other valid identification cards.
Furthermore, wearing face masks is optional for all travelers bound for Cebu and the MCIA.
The order shall be take effect starting Saturday, Nov. 5.
