With the promise to give Embo residents the same benefits and programs as the Makati government is offering, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano seeks urgent coordination with its counterpart.

“Magalang at mahinahon naming hiniling sa aming mga counterparts na opisyal sa Makati na i-organize na agad yung aming transition team, kasi yung mga data, mga detalyeng kailangan po namin, yung mga dokumentong kailangan natin para mas makilala at ma-endorse ng maayos yung mga programa sa lungsod ng Taguig ay masimulan na” Cayetano said in an interview with DZRH.

According to Cayetano, organizing their transition team may help the ten barangays lessen their worries as she mentioned several programs and benefits for the residents.

Cayetano said that it will be better if the affected residents will see a smooth transition, referring to Makati under the leadership of Mayor Aby Binay.

“Sa lebel po namin ay makita ng tao ang kalmadong transisyong mula sa Makati papunta sa Taguig,” Cayetano noted.

“Normal po ang pangamba ng mga tao. Any change maybe uneasy sometimes even scary, inaacknowledge ko po ‘yan,” she added.

She also added that a meeting could help to properly discuss the concerns of their constituents.

Meanwhile, Cayetano is thankful with regard to the situation as it highlights Taguig’s potential and capabilities in leading its people.
