The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reminded the public to not use the cash assistance from the agency in any gambling platforms.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the DSWD said that beneficiaries who are caught using financial assistance for any gambling may be removed from the DSWD program and may be disqualified from receiving assistance in the future.
"Ang mga benepisyaryo na mahuhuling gumagamit ng financial assistance para sa anumang sugal ay maaaring tanggalin sa programa ng DSWD at ma-disqualify sa pagtanggap ng tulong sa hinaharap," the DSWD said.
The agency also prompted the public to be responsible in using the cash aid from the DSWD.
Moreover, it has previously reported that DSWD has issued a department-wide memorandum aiming to prevent squandering the money, as the funds cannot be used for any other purpose, especially in all forms of gambling.
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian also instructed all program implementers to make sure that beneficiaries use the cash assistance solely for its intended purpose.
