

Authorities have declared the case closed against the 31-year-old mother who allegedly set herself and her three children on fire in Barangay San Vicente, Sta. Maria, Bulacan, on May 7.
According to Police Colonel Voltaire Rivera, chief of Sta. Maria Police, the mother, known by the alias "Mommy," was charged with parricide after she burned her three sons before setting herself on fire.
The youngest, a one-year-old boy, died on the spot, while the two older children, aged 3 and 6, were rushed to the hospital but later died from their injuries.
On May 15, the mother was pronounced dead at East Avenue Medical Center, leading authorities to consider the case officially closed.
Based on police investigation, the mother had a serious disagreement with her husband, a 34-year-old police corporal assigned to the PNP Maritime Group in Batangas.
The three children are currently laid to rest in Sta. Maria, Bulacan, while the remains of their mother have been brought to Batangas.
Despite the case being closed, the Philippine National Police (PNP) continues its investigation to fully shed light on the tragic deaths of the victims.
