#CarinaPH intensifies on Wednesday; Signal No. 2 up in Batanes

Typhoon Carina intensified early Wednesday morning as it moved closer to Taiwan, according to the 5 a.m. Typhoon Bulletin released by PAGASA.

As of the latest update, the eye of Typhoon Carina was located approximately 290 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

Carina is packing maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour near the center, with gusts reaching up to 190 km/h while moving northwestward at a speed of 25 km/h.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 has been raised over Batanes.

Meanwhile, TCWS No. 1 is in effect for the following areas:

Babuyan Islands
Northern mainland Cagayan (Claveria, Santa Praxedes, Sanchez-Mira, Pamplona, Abulug, Ballesteros, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Santa Ana, Gonzaga)
Northern Ilocos Norte (Burgos, Bangui, Pagudpud, Dumalneg, Adams)

These advisories serve as warnings for residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures against strong winds and heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Carina.
