According to reports, the damage caused by Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon to the agriculture sector and schools nationwide has reached to over P881-M.
Based on the latest data from the Department of Agriculture (DA), the recent calamity has caused P251.2-M in damage to the agriculture sector, affecting an estimated 11,000 farmers.
The farmers affected are from the regions of CALABARZON, Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, Western and Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and CARAGA.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DepEd) reports P630 million in damage to 90 schools across CAR, NCR, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.
Several schools are currently serving as evacuation centers for those affected by the flooding in various parts of Luzon.
