Canlaon City Mayor Jose Chubasco B. Cardenas declared suspension for all work offices in the city on Thursday, May 6, following the unrest of the Kanlaon Volcano.
Under Executive Order 38 issued by Cardenas on Wednesday, all government and private offices in the city are suspended as a "precautionary and proactive measure in anticipation of any untoward incident."
Canlaon City had earlier declared a state of calamity following the eruption of Kanlaon on June 3.
From Alert Level 1, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) later raised Kanlaon to Alert Level 2.
Cardenas said the suspension would remain enforced until the Alert Level 2 status was lifted.
"All LDRRMC members, the city and barangay officials, government employees, and others concerned are directed to take and observe response protocols as well as execute course(s) of action as may be given by the LCRRMC/BDRRMCV of Canlaon City," the order read.
