Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Tuesday announced that he tested positive for COVID-19, prompting him to cancel all his meetings at the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia.
In a Facebook post, Hun Sen, who is the current chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), said he had tested positive before he had held any meetings including those scheduled with French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
Hun Sen hosted the recently concluded summit of ASEAN and global leaders in Phnom Penh, Cambodia whcih ran from November 10-13.
During the regional event, he had a bilateral meeting with Marcos and interacted with his other counterparts in ASEAN. He also had discussions with other world leaders over the past few days, including United States President Joe Biden.
Malacanang has yet to release a statement regarding this matter.
