The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange of Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) will be open to motorists starting at 12 AM on Wednesday, November 8.
The 3.9-kilometer, 2×2 lane subsection of the expressway, is set to connect CALAX to Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, a much faster route to Tagaytay City.
It is also expected to decongest the busiest highway in Cavite, serving an additional 5,000 daily motorists.
The new subsection will be toll-free until further notice. Motorists will only have to pay up to the Silang East Interchange toll.
In a statement, MPCALA Holdings Inc. said CALAX would be further expanded to 45 kilometers by 2024 featuring eight interchanges at Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor’s Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit Interchange.
CALAX will eventually connect to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) in Kawit.
Its operational segments now span from Mamplasan Rotunda to Silang East Interchange.
MHI is a unit of Metro Pacific Toll Corp., the toll road development arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. It operates CALAX, CAVITEX, North Luzon Expressway, NLEX Connector Road, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
