Cagayan province might have the possibility to be engaged in a nuclear war when the US troop will be deployed for the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), according to Governor Manny Mamba.
Mamba said that similar situations could become a trigger of nuclear war from giant countries which are rivals of the United States.
Moreover, the official anticipates that the government will withdraw its plan to make Cagayan one of the four additional EDCA sites.
In a radio interview with DZRH's Dos Por Dos, Mamba said that the EDCA sites can negatively affect the province since it is not nuclear-powered, and which he sees that using nuclear power is not an option.
He added that Cagayan is already facing a hard time, and that if a war will happen, the province could not fight back.
"I'm willing to kill or die for my country, pero 'wag naman pong ilagay dito. Hindi naman natin kaya ang kaya nila," he said.
