Cagayan now has a total of P44.65 million worth of infrastructure damage after a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit the coast of Dalupiri Island on Tuesday night, September 12.
According to the Office of Civil Defense's (OCD) latest bulletin, 174 people, or 43 families, were affected by the earthquake, while 98 people, or 20 families, were staying at evacuation centers.
The number of injured people remained at five. The OCD earlier said two of the injured people sustained brain trauma and head concussions, while the remaining three suffered minor injuries.
Three houses, meanwhile, were damaged.
OCD said one municipality suspended classes due to the impact of the earthquake.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the tectonic earthquake, downgraded from magnitude 6.4, happened at 7:03 p.m. on Tuesday with a depth focus of 41 kilometers.
Around 131 aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 1.5 to 3.7 and depths of seven to 29 kilometers have been recorded.
