A businessman was killed after being shot while driving his SUV in Jaen, Nueva Ecija, on Saturday, February 1.

According to a report by RH Grace Sansano, witnesses claimed that the victim was alone in his vehicle when two suspects, riding a motorcycle, suddenly appeared and opened fire on him.

Due to losing control of the vehicle, the SUV crashed into a post.

The suspects immediately fled the scene.

Nueva Ecija Provincial Director Col. Ferdinand Germino issued an immediate order to the local police to conduct "Oplan Bakod" and pursue the suspects.

The incident occurred despite the nationwide COMELEC gun ban currently being enforced.
